Work on the Easton Transit Center to Start In April

3/17/2013 | Construction Blog

Construction of Easton’s $26 million transportation center project will start in April. The final hurdle to a ground breaking later this month is approval from the Easton Historic District Commission according to Mayor Sal Panto. The development is being developed through a partnership between the city, the state of Pennsylvania, and the Lehigh and Northampton Transit Authorities.

The project will consist of a pre-cast concrete parking deck and a three story building that will offer 2,500 square feet of commercial, retail, and office space in addition to transportation needs. The first floor of the building will also house the transportation center, which will include space for up to 8 buses at one time and create a transfer station for those using public transportation.

The project is slated to be completed in 2015 and should prove to be a valuable addition to Easton’s public transportation and commercial infrastructure.
