Did you remember National Doughnut Day? It was June 5th.
National Doughnut Day is the first Friday in June each year.
It is the successor to the tradition started by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor those who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
The doughnut-serving women (they were ALL women) were known as “Doughnut Dollies”, as were their Red Cross successors during WW II.
If you missed it, all is not lost. International Jelly Doughnut Day is tomorrow, June 8th.
