Another Thing That Drives Me Crazy

2/29/2016 | Commercial Litigation Blog

Here’s Another Thing That Drives Me Crazy (one more in an occasional series).

In center city Philadelphia, street numbers count up as you go west.

In the 2000 block of Market Street are two office buildings, named “One Commerce Square” and “Two Commerce Square”.

You would therefore expect that the easternmost building would be “One”, and that the westernmost building would be “Two”.  You would, however, be wrong.

“One” was built before “Two”.  Clearly, they weren’t going to drag “One” all the way across the plaza just so that it would be on the “proper” side.

If it was up to me, I’d sneak out in the middle of the night and swap the big brass “1” on the westernmost building with the big “2” on the easternmost building.

Problem solved.

You’re welcome.
