Thomas D. Begley, III
Thomas D. Begley, III has concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning and elder law since his admission to practice in 1990. In doing so, he has assisted individuals and families in achieving their goals of preserving assets during their lifetime and insuring that the inheritances which are left are directed in a manner that minimizes exposure to taxation, creditors and marital issues.
Tom received his undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After spending the initial part of his career with what is now known as the Begley Law Group, Tom served as the Co-Chair of the Wills, Trusts and Estates Group at Capehart & Scatchard. He joined Kaplin Stewart at the outset of 2018.
Tom is a recognized lecturer and author. He has routinely presented at seminars for groups including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Business Institute and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is a Certified Elder Law Attorney as accredited by the National Elder Law Foundation.
Tom has earned the prestigious AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and is regularly recognized by his peers and clients in publications that have awarded him as a top attorney in the areas in which he practices.
Personally, Tom is married to his wife, Ana, with whom he is the father of five children, Lauren, Amanda, Tommy, Marie and Patrick. When possible, he plays guitar, reads and enjoys the company of his friends.
