Accounts Receivable and Client Accounting Analyst leads the firm in accounts receivable and collection efforts. Working with law firm management, the attorneys, staff, and clients, directs, coordinates, and handles all collection efforts, answers client and firm inquiries, and provides support in client accounting. Position will provide support to client accounting personnel. Position will assist with legal billing, processing client cost costs, posting client costs, client costs reconciliation, and client accounting projects. Essential Functions: 

-Maintain firm’s accounts receivable. Timely follow up with attorneys and clients on payment of outstanding accounts;
-Receive, research, and respond to client and firm inquiries regarding billing and payment issues;
-Researches and resolves payment discrepancies;
-Handles firm write-offs and adjustments to client accounts as needed;
-Prepares accounts receivable, time and billing, and client reporting monthly and as needed;
-Communicates with firm’s lending institution to research checks, a.c.h. debits, etc.;
-Performs filing, photocopying, written and verbal communication, and other general clerical duties;
-Maintains accurate records of collection activities; and
-Recommends to Chief Operating Officer discounts, write-downs, write-offs, collection procedures.

This job operates in a clerical, professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, document management, and accounting software.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as needed. (may include standing at the photocopier/scanner for extended periods of time).

Required Education and experience: Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience contacting clients via telephone and email and prefer candidates with a minimum of an associates degree in accounting and/or a certified bookkeeper.
